About 20 foreign students gained a better understanding of the culture of Suzhou in the tour organized by Suzhou Industrial Park One-stop Service Centre for Expats on Nov 5.

The event was part of the “Travel in Suzhou” program run by the center for the purpose of helping expatriates know better about Suzhou. The previous tours organized under the program last year and early this year received positive feedback from the participants.

During the event, the participating students in traditional Chinese costumes visited  Suzhou City Wall Museum, enjoyed a holistic picture of Suzhou from the top of the Xiangmen Gate and listened to the tour guide’s introduction to the history of the city.

The students also walked along the city moat to Qimen Wharf, visited the classical gardens and other attractions on the way, toured the moat in boat and watched a pingtan (storytelling and ballad singing in Suzhou dialect) performance.
