The Loujiang Road (Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway – Zhujie Street) was opened for traffic on May 20 after the renovation aimed at improving traffic speed. The project enables seamless connection between the fast road systems of SIP and Kunshan, a county-level city under Suzhou’s jurisdiction.

The renovation project, which broke ground in November 2023, was undertaken by Suzhou Industrial Park Urban Renovation & Development Co Ltd under the authorization of SIP Municipal Construction Management Center.

The project stretches from the west side of the overpass bridge of the Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway to the administrative boundary between SIP and Kunshan, with a total length of approximately 3.5 kilometers, including a 1.6-kilometer elevated two-way six-lane section. Its opening marks the completion of the renovation of the whole Loujiang Road.
