SIP authorities held a meeting on Mar 4 to look back on last year’s work for pollution prevention and control and make arrangements for related work over this year.

The meeting included a roundup of the achievements SIP made last year in environmental improvement. The local PM2.5 concentration further reduced, while the number of days with fine and good air quality increased. The quality of 95% of the waters in SIP reached the Level III and above.

Tasks for future work were specified at the event, covering dust control, reduction of volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, river and lake management, support for environment management in enterprises, policy support for environmental improvement, etc.

The participants watched a video of SIP’s ecological environment, listened to SIP Ecological Environment Bureau’s report on pollution control over last year, and discussed related issues.
